Dornwood Park Trail is a seven mile network of single track. The trails meander along Deer Creek in heavily forested, rolling terrain. Near the trailhead the remnants of old stone dairy buildings can be seen. On the south side of the park, trails also wind through wide open prairie grasses. On the northwest side of the park the trail rolls along high banks above Deer Creek. It is fun, fast single track...not a lot of climbing and not too technical, this is one you fly on. Good to ride this with a buddy.
Dornwood Park Trail is located in southeast Topeka and is accessible from a trailhead on SE 25th Street, east of California Avenue. Coming from the East or West on I-70 take the California Street Exit. Head South on California Street to 25th Street. Turn left and the street deadends at the Dornwood Park. Pass the baseball diamonds and park in the lot at the end of the road. Trailhead is there.
